Women Empowerment – Activity details
Women empowerment project intends to empower women both in poor rural areas and refugee camps in Uganda. Many single mums in both places are tasked with sustaining their families.
These mothers find a hard time doing so because they can hardly earn a living for themselves. Therefore, this project intends to help them earn an income. Thus we provide them with sewing machines.
In the long run, these mothers are able to save some amounts of money. Therefore they will be able through these small ventures to improve both their lives and the lives of their families
Poverty remains in a widespread in Uganda. With this struggling economy, women and refugees are particularly hit hard. Many widows have been severely affected.
They are high rates of unemployment and poverty, especially in single mothers and refugees. The Friends for Human survival and Development Organization is tasked to economically empower these kinds of people as well as improving their standards of living.
In order to help these widows and other women, we provide them with tailoring/sewing machines. These machines can help them sew clothes for their families as well as setting up a small home business.
Long-Term Impact of women empowerment project
Women learn to save money they would have spent on their own clothes or the clothing of their own families through the tailoring. By economically empowering women with small scale economic ventures, the standards of living are improved and become economically empowered to cater for themselves and their families. This helps them live a good life
