One family One Sack of Rice 2. Another Family Served
On 11-08-2020, Friends for Human Survival and Development limited in short (HumanityFriends) completes another project of serving one sack of rice to a single mother family.
Our recipient this time is a mother of four kids. She is called Nassejje. She lives with her kids in Bongole Village, Ndejje Parish, Ssabagabo Makindye sub-county in Wakiso district.
One family one rice sack 2 Project is multi-faced; the charity aims to target community groups where people can be served in different perspectives at a given time. For example, this project targets both single mothers it also targets children.
In situations where food is scarce, children become more vulnerable because they cannot look for food for themselves. However, with one family one sack program children’s food is secured. This is also adding to their health wellbeing since malnutrition has caused many diseases and disorders in young health.
Helpless mothers are also catered for. Even though HumanityFriends is serving underserved women under different programs like women empowerment, sustainable livelihood, and others, this current program is more direct and focused on providing food to them.
Its effects and clear and quick, as the saying goes, a hungry man is an angry one, we believe that securing food to these communities bestows a sense of peace and happiness.
I should not forget in this small article to credit the work benevity.org for their tremendous work in coordinating donations. Through them, a grassroots charity like ours can make changes on the ground and to the most affected ones.
We usually serve 50 or 25 Kgs of Rice sack according to the donations received. In this program, the family received 25 Kgs of rice. Thanks to you all donors and coordinators of donations like Benevity.
